The New York mercantile Exchange, Inc. is the largest exchange and clearer of commodity futures in the world as well as the third most important futures market in the US in terms of number of contracts traded in 2005.
In 2005 the NYMEX was also the world’s number one energy futures and options exchange and is also the largest trading and clearing operation for precious metals when measured by the number of contracts traded and the size of each contract.
The activity of the exchange takes place in two principal divisions, the New York Mercantile Exchange, Inc. also known as the NYMEX Exchange or the NYMEX Division, and the Commodity Exchange, Inc. known as the COMEX or COMEX Division.
On the NYMEX Exchange, our clients trade principally futures and options on energy, such as Crude Oil, Gasoline, Heating Oil and Natural Gas.
On the COMEX, clients trade futures and options on metals such as Gold, Silver, Copper and Aluminium. |
